What is preventative care?
Very simply, preventative care is what we do to help you prevent diseases and potential health problems. By noticing potential issues early on, we can ensure that our members live healthier lives and avoid certain illnesses. Proper preventative care can make you feel better and save you money.
There are many things we can fix if caught early by spending enough time with the member. We recommend that our members receive a physical exam each year. At these appointments we can measure your blood pressure and establish a baseline. That makes it easy for us to notice a problem, like a spike in blood pressure that needs further attention.
We can also screen for Type 2 diabetes. Cancer prevention efforts and early screenings also fall under the preventative care. Equally, women’s health and gynecological services are key areas of our preventative medicine driven practice: pap smears or family planning. We are here to help and serve our members.
Preventative care also means helping our members live healthier lifestyles. Our practice provides tips and treatments that you need to avoid issues like heart disease and osteoporosis later in life. We can help you manage your weight and assist you when you want to quit smoking.
The best part about preventative care is that most of these services are free if you have insurance. Generally, services like an annual physical and screenings are covered under your insurance plan.

Mole / Skin Growth Removal
If you notice any suspicious or changing skin moles or other spots on your skin and if it is determined to be worrisome, we can collect a biopsy at our office.
According to the American Academy of Dermatology, regular self and doctor performed skin checks are very important. There is an easy way to remember what you are looking for, just remember ABCDE.
A – Asymmetry, one side of mole looks different from the other
B – Border irregularity – it is not smooth and sharply distinct from skin
C – Color, the color is not uniform
D – Diameter, bigger than 6mm or the size of an eraser
E – Evolving, the most important factor, any changing mole
