Dr. Nare Stepanyan joined Optimum Medical Group in 2020 as lead physician and medical director with the mission of continuing its high quality of care and broadening the practice’s new approaches in medicine.
Growing up in Germany, Dr. Stepanyan was exposed to a diverse population at the heart of Europe. She quickly developed a deep understanding of people with different backgrounds, empowering her to have strong personal communication skills and a unique ability to work as a team.
Throughout her studies, Dr. Stepanyan had the opportunity to closely study the public health systems of various countries, notably the United States. She was closely interested in the complex challenges in the American system. As such, always up to help solve problems, Dr. Stepanyan decided to move to the United States and practice medicine. She completed extensive residency training in family medicine at Loma Linda University and Adventist Health, working very closely with an underserved population with very complex health needs. Her experience and depth of knowledge quickly certified her with the American Board of Family Medicine.
She has extensive training and experience in primary care, practicing both in-patient and outpatient settings. Dr. Stepanyan also draws years of experience in performing procedures such as joint injections and minimally invasive procedures. In addition, Dr. Stepanyan continues to work in busy urgent cares providing passionate care to those facing critical health problems.
As someone who continually stresses preventative approaches, Dr. Stepanyan has a deep understanding of health challenges facing women and focuses on best approaches in women’s health.
Dr. Stepanyan strongly believes in educating her patients. The health and quality of life of her patients remain a key priority for Dr. Stepanyan. As such, she strongly believes that the future of medicine is to provide a combination of the best facets of traditional methods and ideologies used in Western Medicine along with integrative, alternative, regenerative medicine.
Dr. Stepanyan embodies the classic definition of what it means to be a physician in the community while also utilizing modern technologies to provide the best current evidence-driven medical care.
She highly values the patient-physician relationship, which she likes to define as a captain-advisor interaction. She believes every patient is the ultimate captain of his or her Life Boat by building and maintaining the captain-advisor relationship.
Her goal is to take proper care of her patients at the clinic as well as at a hospital setting in order to make the transition of care more efficient and avoid communication breakdowns, incorrect medications, and other problems that can lead to hospital readmission.
Dr. Stepanyan is on staff at main hospitals in her community – enabling her patients a peace of mind that she will be at their bedside in case a problem arises. She also offers urgent care appointments and telemedicine services with the purpose of minimizing unnecessary emergency room visits, overmedication and false diagnoses.
Outside of her community, Dr. Stepanyan has a strong passion about global health and medical mission work. Her dream is to build an educational center for disadvantaged children with integrated primary medical care, providing doctors and nurses the opportunity to work in underserved rural regions.
Dr. Stepanyan enjoys traveling, skydiving, yoga, youth mentorship. She is deeply fascinated by new cultures and languages and dreams one day to do a world tour flying around the world.
She is fluent in German, English, Russian, and Armenian.
